If your time in Bukhara is limited to one day, it makes sense to plan a compact route through the most important points right away. Start at the Ark Fortress and move straight to the Poi Kalyan complex — the Kalyan Minaret and mosque are within walking distance and take about an hour to see. Next in a straight line are the Toki Zargaron and Toki Sarrafon trading domes, which lead conveniently to Lyab-i Hauz for a short break. On the way back, stop by the Bolo Hauz Mosque with its carved wooden columns — a visit takes no more than 15 minutes. This route fits into 4-5 hours and covers the city's main symbols without unnecessary detours.
